She rolls over!

On St. Pat's day Ella rolled over for the first time, but we all missed it because we weren't looking! Since then, I have been stalking Ella with my camera trying to capture the elusive roll. Below is the evolution of my stalking . . . in the first video, Aunt Sandra tries to remind her how to roll and Ella almost gets it. In the next two, she rolls for the camera!!

She laughs!

I caught a little bit of her laugh. We have seen glimpses of it over the last couple weeks, but it is short lived and allusive. Here, Grandma Grahl tries to make Ella hold up her hands to ask to be let out of the swing and Ella thinks it's hilarious.

Grandma Grahl, Aunt Debbie, and Aunt Sandra are here!

Ella has been having a wonderful visit with her Grandma Grahl, Aunt Debbie, and Aunt Sandra. There are so many hands to hold her, she barely has time to play with her jungle friends on her gym and her chair. Grandma Grahl loves to rock her in the rocking chair--that is how she gets Ella to sleep.

Aunt Sandra supervises some tummy time. Ella is just beginning to like being on her stomach. She is trying to roll over every day now, but she can't quite master how to tuck her arm under herself to get all the way over.

Aunt Debbie has been crocheting like a crazy woman, but she always takes time out to hold and play with Ella.

Ella loves to sit in Grandma's lap and play dominoes. I think she and Grandma were winning this game!

Happy Birthday to Nonna, Daddy, and Mommy

On Saturday night we had a joint birthday party for Nonna, Kurt, and me, but Ella was the star of the night! We ate pasta for dinner and had ice cream cake and Eiffel Tower cookies for dessert. Yummy!

Ella ate her first ice cream cone! Actually, she just held her first ice cream cone.

Uncle Greg likes holding Ella better now that her head is not so wobbly.

Ella at Bodega Bay--She's Three Months Old!

Last weekend, we all went to Bodega Bay to relax after the end of the basketball season. These are some pictures of Ella on the last day we were there--the only day of sun of course--down on the beach. She was asleep at first in the baby carrier. When she woke up, we weren't sure if she was sticking her tongue out to lick her jacket or taste the salt in the sea air.

Here is a video of her in the rental house. She is slowly getting used to being on her stomach, but she usually does not like it at all!

Tour of California

Last weekend, Ella experienced her first Tour of California. She went to the Prologue in Sacramento, the feed zone near Lake Berryessa for stage one with mommy and daddy and the Doe family, and she and mommy went to the feed zone outside of Livermore for stage three on Tuesday.

Nonna Visits

On Sunday Nonna came to visit, so we tried on the cute little cow outfit she bought Ella. Even the socks have cows on them. I didn't get a picture of it, but the shirt, pants, and socks all have tails coming out the back!

Later in the afternoon, Nonna and Ella fell asleep on the couch.

Aunt Tracey's Birthday

On Tuesday night, Aunt Tracey came over for dinner and some birthday cake, actually ice cream cake! Ella helped Aunt Tracey blow out the candles.

Tracey and Greg's Birthday

On Saturday night, we drove to Roseville to have a birthday dinner with the family for Tracey and Greg's birthdays. Just like at the basketball game, Ella allowed us to pass her around the table. She is so mellow--such a good baby!! She even tolerated the party hat that Aunt Tracey bought :)
She slept in Nonna's arms and sucked on her hand. She's starting to suck her thumb when she's in the mood and she can find it.
Uncle Dick is an old pro now with babies since he has two grandchildren of his own, Willie and Vanessa. Ella just chilled out on his lap as he ate his dinner.

Here is a little video from the night of Ella and Daddy . . .

Dad's Game

On Friday night Ella and I met Aunt Nancy and her friends Diane and George at the McNair basketball game. Ella was awake for the entire game (for once). We all took turns holding her in our laps. She was so happy just to sit and watch the game! Notice she has her Eagles outfit on :)
